In each kit you get two sets of three trays - two per set that have solid bottoms, and one per set that has holes. The tray with holes will nest in between the two solid ones, and your growing medium will rest on the middle, holed tray.

Using the seeds provided in the kit, spread each type evenly across the included mats. The seeds can be touching one another but do your best to avoid clumps. Be sure to use all of the given seeds in each tray. After spreading the seed, give them a thorough misting of water, but not so much that the water is pooling. Place the second solid tray on top and add a weight (like a can of soup or soda). This weight will help the plant roots drive down into the grow medium and will help the plants develop a stronger stem.

About 48 hours after planting the seeds, they should look something like this. Give them a misting of water, as it’s very important that the young seedlings do not dry out. Keep the grow medium moist, but again, no pooling or puddles. Put the second solid tray back on top for one more day with weight/can on top of that.

By about day four or five, the plants should be established and pushing the top tray upward. At this point, remove both the can/weight and upper tray for good. It is also time to water from below by lifting the tray with holes up and pouring some water (about an 1/8 - 1/4 cup) into the bottom tray before placing the plants back down into it. We want to keep the plant stems and leaves as dry as possible for the rest of their growth. Check the water level about every twelve hours, adding when the bottom tray looks dry or the grow medium is no longer damp.

Light, light, light. Your micros will want at least 12 hours of light each day, although leaving them under lights all day and nightis not beneficial. Your results may vary, depending on your room temperature and how much light the plants have received. Don’t worry too much!

Your greens should be adequately sized for harvesting and enjoying! Yes, you can let them grow bigger, but the longer you wait, the more chewy and fibrous the plants will get, and their flavor will begin to get bitter.
Thanks for giving this a try!
